Empowering Diverse Learners To Thrive

The goal for all of our partner schools is to create student-centered, high-performing academic institutions. With highly trained teachers, nutritional lunch programs, accessible learning materials, and a well-rounded curriculum, student outcomes are improving at a rapid rate. In order to give every student the best chance of success, we are dedicated to catering to all learning styles and providing students with the individualized attention they deserve.

Over the past year, TCF implemented a special education initiative to better meet the needs of diverse learners. We hired a special education teacher, Ms. Susan Ngowi, to lead this effort for students at Gyetighi Primary School and the Rift Valley Children’s Village (RVCV). Ms. Susan identifies students in need of extra help and works with them to support their varied needs, including differences in reading comprehension and speech disorders.

This initiative has allowed for additional support on a variety of subjects to ensure students can excel inside the classroom. However, we want more than just academic success for students. Our special education initiative also focuses on helping students develop essential life skills such as better communication, effective decision-making, and interpersonal relationship skills.

With support for students with special needs being scarce throughout Tanzania, we are passionate about creating a more equitable level of education for all learners in the Oldeani school district.
