Celebrating Peter and Grace’s Legacy
After nearly two decades of service, our co-founder Peter Mmassy is stepping back from his daily leadership role at TCF on November 1st. Alongside him, his wife Grace Christopher has been equally committed—offering guidance, support, and thoughtful dedication that have been essential to TCF’s growth and to the thriving community at the Rift Valley Children’s Village. Together, Peter and Grace have built a foundation that will continue to nurture children and strengthen the Oldeani community for generations to come. We are profoundly thankful for their past contributions and their ongoing commitment to our mission.
Peter wanted to share a personal message with you:
I'm writing today to share important news with all of you. After more than twenty years at RVCV, Grace and I have made the decision to step away from daily operations. We will remain deeply connected to the Village—as mentors, advisors, and proud members of this family. This is not a farewell. Like when Mama India moved from the Village, we’re not going far. Our home will be just down the hill in Karatu, and we’ll still be visiting, catching up, sharing stories, and celebrating all of the big and small successes with everyone. This will also give me more time to focus on local and international fundraising, effectively working as a liaison to build solid government relationships, as well as serving in my position as a TCF board member.
Grace is also stepping back from her work with REAP, the program she spent years building with dedication and commitment. She’ll continue working with Rift Valley Women’s Group and the amazing group of women who mean so much to both of us.
While we won’t be on campus as often as we once were, please know that our connection to RVCV and to each of you remains strong and full of love. As you know, our three daughters Joan, Judy and Jacky were born and raised here, and for our whole family, being part of this community is one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives.
Grace and I are incredibly proud of what we’ve helped build. From the very beginning, this has been about creating something lasting, something that belongs to all of us. And while we’re stepping away from daily roles, we are not stepping away from you. Our home and our lives remain open, and we hope you will always feel welcome to reach out.
This next chapter will give us time to be with our family and embrace life in new ways. But we will carry the Village with us. We trust in the team we’ve nurtured, and we believe deeply in our young leaders, creators, caregivers, and changemakers. We know we will all carry this legacy forward, not alone, but together.
Thank you for your love and your belief in our TCF family. I will always be proud to call RVCV home.
With love and gratitude,
Peter
Peter, Grace, THANK YOU for your years of extraordinary service. Your leadership, thoughtfulness, and steadfast commitment have shaped TCF into the organization it is today.
Looking ahead, we are pleased to announce that Uldrick Kundi will serve as our Executive Director, joining the team on October 15th. We look forward to sharing more about Uldrick, his dedication, and his excitement to rejoin the Village family.
We will continue building on the strong foundation Peter and Grace have created, honoring their legacy, and growing our TCF family together.
