A Letter from TCF’s Executive Director - Peter Mmassy
Dear TCF supporters,
2022 has been our busiest year yet as we start making major investments in our Education Program to provide more students with the opportunities they deserve. This year, we started on two of our biggest projects: taking on a new primary school partnership and transforming Oldeani Secondary School into a residential campus.
Even as we grow, we are still focused on providing interventions big and small to transform schools. While we work to build dormitories and serve an additional 700 students, we must remember that bettering student outcomes doesn’t just come from constructing new buildings and hiring more teachers. It also comes from normalizing conversations surrounding mental health, introducing art curriculum, and providing support for diverse learners. The infrastructure, resources, and the intangibles of learning all work together to revolutionize our local education system.
As you read about our recent efforts in education, know that we are still providing holistic poverty alleviation through health, economic opportunity, and by protecting this area's most vulnerable children. Below is a quick summary of the progress we are making here at the Rift Valley Children’s Village and across our community programs.
With gratitude,
Peter Mmassy
