A Forever Family
This March, we welcomed two-year-old Brightness John, our 113th child, into our forever family. Upon her arrival at the Rift Valley Children’s Village (RVCV), there was a tangible sense of joy and excitement as everyone gathered eagerly to meet their new baby sister.
The first few weeks were an adjustment for Brightness as she became accustomed to a house of giggling girls and a high-energy family eager to give her the unconditional love and attention she deserves. Everyone from our house mamas to social workers, played a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition.
Now, after only a few months, it is clear that Brightness feels right at home. She can often be seen with a big smile, running around the playground or walking hand in hand with her older sister Jackline Laizer.
Early on, Brightness and Jackline formed a deep bond. Jackline graduated from Oldeani Secondary School last year and has been at home helping out until college begins.
Jackline’s dream is to study social work as she explains that growing up at RVCV demonstrated how much of a positive impact love and guidance can make in a child’s life. Inspired by TCF’s dedicated team of social workers, she is determined to help other children have a happy and full childhood similar to her own.
After seeing Jackline help out with her youngest siblings, we are confident that she will accomplish her goals and continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
Over the past 20 years, we have watched children like Brightness arrive at a young age and grow into ambitious and compassionate individuals like Jackline who will shape the future of Tanzania.
With 38 young adults now out in the world working in medicine, finance, tourism, and so much more, we couldn’t be more proud of our forever family!
